What to do if patients have a cough, temperature or loss of taste or smell.
Posted on 23 Sep 2020
Patients who develop either a new persistent cough, a temperature or lose their sense of smell or taste, please do not attempt to book an appointment at the surgery or even complete an online eConsultation.
The procedure is that they can either ring 119 or go onto the gov.uk website to book a test.
If you submit an eConsult with these symptoms this is the advice you will receive back. The surgery has no facility to provide Covid-19 tests for patients and cannot arrange this for patients either. Patients must arrange this themselves.
Once patients have developed symptoms they must immediately self-isolate, along with members of their household, and get a test. If the test proves to be positive the household must continue their self-isolation for the length of ten days for the person who tested positive and 14 days for the other household members.
