Once you know you are pregnant you can contact the midwives direct to arrange your antenatal care. They will let the practice know of your progress. Attendance at antenatal classes can be arranged by contacting the midwife.
The practice has full-time Foundation Year 2 Training Doctors and GP Registrars training at the practice. They are fully qualified doctors who are in training to either become GPs or hospital doctors. They can be with us for either 4, 6 or 12 months. These doctors will sometimes be required to video their consultations for their own training purposes, you will always be asked for your consent for this to occur. The recordings are destroyed once they have been discussed with their trainer, (the GP's here).
From time to time in this practice we are responsible for the supervision of various students who are involved in training for their respective professions. This means that during consultations there may be additional people present and they may be performing relevant clinical tasks as part of their training.
You will be informed if there is to be a trainee present at a consultation. If you have any objections at all to the presence of students during your consultation, then please make your views known to the receptionist prior to your appointment.
